RailDock includes proxy configuration helpers and Traefik label generation for environments where the edge is managed separately from the control plane.

Use external proxy mode when your infrastructure already has a central ingress/TLS layer and RailDock should emit or cooperate with routing metadata instead of owning the complete edge path itself.

Document which component owns DNS, certificates, ports, service discovery, and health checking. Split ownership is workable only when the boundary is explicit.
