Backups
RailDock exposes on-demand backup, backup schedule, download, restore, and delete operations for supported services.
Recommended operating sequence
- Create an organization backup destination.
- Verify that destination from RailDock.
- Create a schedule for each production datastore that needs protection.
- Check that backups are actually completing.
- Run a recovery drill on a regular cadence.
- Document any service-specific restore caveats.
Do not confuse scheduling with recovery readiness
A cron-like schedule proves that a job is configured, not that the archive is restorable. Verification and recovery drills close that gap.
